Amanda Grafanakis Duo
The Amanda Grafanakis Duo deliver flawless renditions of popular songs that are instantly recognisable, performed by Amanda Grafanakis (Australian Idol '08) on vocals, and accompanied by Jayszun Vanderwerff (Anastacia) on guitar.
The duos members have toured internationally in over 38 countries, as well as appearing on Australian Television to audiences in the tens of millions.
Amanda Grafanakis started her musical journey in Hobart, Tasmania. Rapidly rising through the ranks of covers bands, her spectacular singing style garnered her attention and plaudits from industry icons such as Ian Dickson, ex General Manager of Marketing for BMG Australia, who stated Amanda has "...star quality and a fabulous level of performance, great pop/rock marketability, attitude, energy, and individual style.", shock Jock Kyle Sandilands, who said of her Australian Idol performances "You look great, have a strong voice, and you're one of the only ones that give 110%", and long time John Farnham collaborator Ross Fraser, noted that "Amanda has x-factor. There's no way this will be the last we'll be seeing of her."
Jayszun Vanderwerff began session work in New Zealand in the late 80's, and has since toured and worked closely with a veritable "who's who" of the music industry internationally, including U2, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Hilary Duff, Matchbox 20, Ben Harper, Foo Fighters, and many others, as well as being invited to perform at Popkomm music conference in Berlin, Germany; and North by Northeast in Toronto, Canada. After retiring from session work with American megastar Anastacia in 2004, Jayszun has performed across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East with his original band, Saskia.
