Marzena Gornicka

Polish born, Marzena started her musical education in the Karol Kurpinski Musical Academy. In 1984 Marzena was awarded a First Prize in the Warsaw Temporary Music Concourse, which led to her early recordings for Polish Radio and many youth music concerts throughout Poland.
In the years following years, Marzena received several prestigious awards and gave several high class performances including:
1991 - Received a Chopin Foundation scholarship.
1992 - Performance of Robert Schumann Piano Concerto.
1998 - Received the Magister of Music Degree from Warsaw Frederic Chopin Music Academy.
Early on, Marzena found it easy to pursue interests in various forms of music. Her classical music background helped greatly in pursuing and understanding various other styles. In addition to playing piano, Marzena developed further interests in singing but does not limit herself to one particular genre. Instead, Marzena's aim is to prove her herself in various styles, as well as to develop her own voice rooted in the traditions of jazz, soul, rhythm and blues.
Touring the globe since 1997, Marzena has been a part of numerous contract engagements in Western Europe, Middle East and Asia, both as a member of a covers group, and later as a solo pianist/vocalist.
